I hadn't been back to this diner too much in the past couple of years since my last review had been written, but the other night my girlfriend and I stopped in for a bite. The staff was very pleasant as per usual, and the food was excellent. I think they've stepped up their game, it's a solid diner as I had said in my previous review. But I am bumping them up from a 3 to a 4. As Steve Brule says "If 3 is the best". I will definitely be going back more often now.

I actually really enjoyed this diner! I think all diner cheeseburgers taste the same, but the one here was soo good. It was really juicy and the bun was perfect.

I went for what I remember being the best Greek salad, found a great suggestion on the dinner special list. So I took the salad to go for the next day, only to find french dressing. What a disappointment!

5 stars for the food, and the service and prices were decent.

Really delicious fresh food. One of the better diners on the south shore. Service was great, portions are big enough to share for sure! Will definitely return.

Was visiitin some family in Lindenhurst and we all decided to go to for some dinner. This is your typical diner with the typical diner atmosphere. I got a Greek salad which was pretty good for a salad. I also got it customized with some other toppings and the waiter was happy to do it. My family and I left here feeling satisfied. I should ad that I went here with one of my loudest and most obnoxious relatives. They were happy to accommodate this person with nothing but smiles.

Great diner! The staff here is very nice and attentive. I think that their turkey burger is better than their regular burger, but that's just me. They have a nice variety of food and I haven't had a bad thing there. Can get VERY busy and sometimes you have to park on the street if the lot gets full.

This place will always remind me of my Grandma. When I was little, there were two diners in close vicinity to her house, the Lindenhurst and the Lindencrest. This one was my favorite. I loved their roast beef au jus with creamed spinach. Back in the 80's-90's, the used to serve chicken wings as an appetizer whenever you ordered an entree. The wings were in a kind of tomato cacciatore sauce, and the meat literally fell off the bone. We loved the chicken, and she used to try and order it as an entree. They never had it, unfortunately. My grandma and I went here regularly for years, I'd say a good 10-years or so. She passed away just last summer, but I will never pass this diner without thinking of her with so much love. Waitstaff are great with kids, and their coffee is good, too.

Great food. Huge portions. Prices typical for a diner. Been there more that any other restaurant in the neighborhood. Great greek and healthy dishes. Dinner specials are all inclusive. I have 3 small kids and the waitresses always entertain my kids :)

eh ok place i guess but when comparing diners in lindenhurst .... lindenhurst is better then lindencrest if you cant make a decent burger then why make anything at all the only good thing about this place is that they are open late so when you are hungover you can grab something to eat and trust me you wont be the only one in there on saturday at 3am

Big portions, reasonable prices, quick service and they know how to handle big parties. There is never more than a two minute wait for a table for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday morning. You would think there would be a wait since the parking lot is always full! Breakfast is filling. This is my favorite diner in Lindenhurst!

This is, and will always be, my favorite diner. It has all the quirks you would want in a diner: a staff that sometimes seems annoyed by your presence but also recognizes you from years past, top notch matzoh ball soup, huge portions, quick service, excellent honey mustard, etc. It's just perfect.

I moved back to Long Island on 10/1 and the Lindencrest has started to become my daily breakfast joint. Eggs are always perfect and the homemade challah french toast is to die for. They are quite casual and now allow me to just grab whatever booth Id like when u walk in. The waitstaff knows my orders typically before I have to say a word. The establishment is also probably the cleanest diner I've ever seen. Check em out!!

The staff and prices weren't great. But the food...was amazing. I ordered a Philly Cheese Wrap. Let's start with the french fries it comes with. They are phenomenal. Crisp, buttery, & delicious. The wrap was a little bit on the greasy side but it was soooo yummy. The portion sizes here are GIGANTIC and I left feeling soooo stuffed. I didn't eat for the rest of the day (& I came here at 2pm!). I would recommend Lindencrest Diner.

Never again. I was here a few months back and it was ok, food ok but service or both nothing amazing. I come here for dinner tonight and the place was busy, fine, I got a small booth right off, no troubles. The problem came with the service being really slow and pretty unattentive, although the waitress was nice enough. The real problem came when I ate my meal and seemingly almost choked or had something briefly sticking sort of in the back of my throat, later, apparently, to be coughed out, a tiny piece of plastic, seed, I dunno but it seemed to be from a drink I had here, in the coffee, or the food. I cannot be certain, and this could've been a coincidence but I doubt it since it occurred right after I finished my extraordinarily lackluster meal. Nobody even came over to check, the waitress disappeared never reappearing with my bill while I coughed and choked in the meantime, no water refill, no nothing. Luckily I was ok but it was a scary and angering experience. Also everybody else that works here walks around staring weirdly angrily at the customers or just has an air of weirdness about 'em. Just wait till someone nearly chokes to death on whatever it is you're dropping in the food and see what happens. Summation: the food isn't all that good and considering the above nightmare situation, including the service, I would never, ever eat here again and would never, ever ever, recommend anyone else come here either. Someone who works at a local Dunkin Donuts told me later on that the only diner in the area he recommended (or nearby) was the Massapequa Diner on Sunrise Highway. If only I had known this ahead of time. I don't like this area of L.I. anyway and never did. The only reason I even came out here as last time was to visit Looney Tunes Record Shop. That, at least, was worth the trip. Stay FAR away from this wretched excuse for a diner.

I would give this diner a 5 star review for food, but recently had a very bad experience. I ordered breakfast, my favorite delish egg white omelet with toast well done. When it arrived my waitress asked if it was well done enough and I agreed. When I opened the pieces to check for butter, there was orange marmalade already on the toast. EWWWW. The only way for that to happen is someone had it at a table and spread it on. My complaint to the owner was met with a smirk and half grin prompting me to say that I didn't think it was funny. Why would you have that attitude? It was explained away as an error by a server at the counter. I should have called the board of health right then but it was a Sunday. They didn't charge for my replacement food, but I'm not sure I will go back.

This diner always seems clean and the waitstaff is always really friendly. The food is decent Greek diner food. I usually order breakfast which is good. Just scrambled eggs and whatnot. I have had their Souvlaki and Gyros in the past. Both were pretty good. I'm not crazy about their Tzatziki sauce though. It tastes like there's something missing. The hot open roast beef sandwich is enough to eat there and to take some home for lunch the next day. Portions are huge, as with most Greek diners. They also have a very good gluten-free dish called Chicken Ala Thenia (or something like that). It's not diet in any way because it's smothered in mozzarella cheese, but it IS gluten-free and quite good.

I went with my wife to dinner at Lindencrest diner.I do not usually eat at diners since they are mostly overpriced and have at best pedestrian food. We were seated quickly at this diner and were brought our hot bread with butter a welcome sight. We then ordered two dinners which came with soup and salad not either or as most other diners have. The matzo ball soup was excellent with big chunks of chicken in it.The salad was large and very tasty. Our main courses were both very good although my lasagna was aboutt average. We were also given a free beverage. We then ordered dessert which in my case was a piece of strawberry shortcake. This piece was HUGE and was enough to fill 2 people. Service was excellent and quite responsive. The price to value ratio was above average for this type of restaurant. All in all this was an excellent experience and I look forward to returning in the near future despite the distance from our home.

This diner is OK. Nothing special. The day I went there were a lot of young girls working who were getting yelled out for not refilling customers waters and for standing around. The boss looked embarrassed.

I've eaten here many times over the past seven years and never thought to review them but our Valentine's Day meal was so outstanding that I realized I wanted to let everyone know. Atmosphere: Standard diner decor. Always clean. It's not really outdated like most diners on Long Island are. Service: It is EXCELLENT. My water glass is filled before I am even finished...and that makes me very happy. They get my order correct. And when I asked for pickles, they gave them to me with a smile...and they were DELICIOUS...seriously, the best pickles I have had. They were crunchy and snapped. I was in heaven. Food: I'm not a big fan of their shrimp salad (too much mayo, too little shrimp) but everything else has been very good. My boyfriend almost always orders the dinner specials and raves about them. I have never really paid attention to what he gets. This time, I ordered a dinner special! For $15.95, here is what I got: Bread basket, chicken wings (we asked for them but they were free), 2 pickles (again, I asked for them), Salad, Soup (I chose Matzo Ball), Pepper Steak with Rice (my entree), Dessert (a huge piece of chocolate cake) and Tea (or coffee)!! The salad, soup, pickle, chicken wings and bread filled me up completely. When the entree came, I took a taste and asked them to pack it to go. They did. They also packed dessert up for us and just brought us the tea and coffee. My boyfriend ordered a chicken and spinach dinner special which was also really good. We literally got this many meals out of the two specials: 2 at the diner. We each ate half our dessert later that night and finished them off the next day. I ate my entree for lunch the next day and he ate HALF his for lunch the next day. Today, we both split the last of his entree! That is how big the portions are! I turned to him after lunch today and said "Hey, we finished the last dinner special just in time for the Sunday night dinner special!" Prices: Not crazy expensive but not cheap either. I would say $10 a head for a Breakfast or Lunch selection and $15-$20 a head for a special or a dinner. The real value is getting the specials. I am just blown away by how much food we got. And it was all really delicious!

been here a few times after some drunk nights out for my hubby and friends and just a late sober night out for me. The mozzarella cheese fries were good, I think I got breakfast here once too and it was also good. One time we got some drama with our late night after party meal when a fight broke out luckily nothing was damaged and no one was hurt.

Oh, Lindencrest. How I love thee. I love their Matzoh Ball Soup. I love their French Onion Soup. I love their Tuna Melts and Reuben Sandwiches. I love their cheesy jukebox things in the booths with Billy Joel's Greatest Hits. Perfect place to go when you're hungry in the middle of the night. There will always be a special place in my heart for the Lindencrest Diner.

Good food, nice service. A bit of an attitude up at the register though. I haven't been there in a while, will give another try. The woman may not even be there anymore.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
